UKIPT - UK and Ireland Poker Tour
The UKIPT is a brand new poker tour sponsored by Pokerstars. UKIPT stands for the UK and Ireland Poker Tour. The tour kicks off on December 8th 2009 in Galaway Ireland with the Irish Poker Championship. This tournament has a 2,000 Euro buy in and a player cap of 400. The tournament is expected to fill up very quickly and Pokerstars are already running satellites online.
There are some fantastic venues lined up for UKIPT events including the Gleneagles Hotel Killarney and the UK's leading card room Dusk Till Dawn Nottingham where the player cap is a massive 700. Other venues of note include the G Casino Manchester and the 4 star Metrople Hotel London.
In total there are 8 events scheduled for the UKIPT which run between 2009 and 2010. Plans are in place for a ninth event in Scotland but details of this are yet to be announced. Three of the UKIPT tournaments have a £100,000 guarantee; UKIPT Manchester, UKIPT Coventry and UKIPT Nottingham. Two of the eight events have a 250,000 Euro guarantee; UKIPT Killarney and UKIPT Dublin. The buy in for the £100k guaranteed events is £550 where as the buy in for the 250k Euro events is 1100 Euros. The UKIPT is expected to take the UK and Ireland by storm and people are already predicting within a few years it will be the major poker tour in the UK.
Qualify For UKIPT
You can qualify for UKIPT events online at Pokerstars. Stars are the exclusive sponsor of the UKIPT and therefore are the only online poker room which is offering UKIPT satellites.
