Joe Cada was born in 1987 on November the 18th and grew up at his home town in Michigan. This young online poker player is probably best known by the poker community for his 2009 Main Event win in the World Series of Poker.

After getting very lucky on the final table Joe Cada managed to beat Darvin Moon heads up to become the youngest poker player ever to win the Main Event. This beat Peter Eastgate’s record which was set just one year previous to Cada’s win. Cada is a self admitted product of the Moneymaker boom after the 2003 Main Event. Joe Cada is definitely an up and coming poker star and players should look out to see more of him on a lot of big poker television shows in the coming months.

Joe started his poker life playing part time while studying at Macomb Community College. He was introduced to the gambling seen because his mother worked at the MotorCity Casino as a blackjack dealer. Like many other student poker players before him, he quickly realised that school wasn’t the way to go. Cada dropped out after just two semesters to pursue his poker career. He experienced quite a bit of success starting out in online poker managing to put enough money together to buy his own 3 story house in Michigan.

Today Joe Cada boasts to play over 50 tournaments a day online.

Successful Tournaments

Cada started his poker career at the age of 16, after a couple of initial deposits he grinded his bankroll up to start competing in the larger cash games. Earning over 500 thousand dollars online, Cada was no stranger to big money coming into his first World Series of Poker in 2009. The young professional ran well cashing two events prior to the Main Event - finishing one of the events in 17th place.

All that is blown out of the water however by his amazing run to win the Main Event in 2009, where he showed invincible form on the final table. Netting him a nice prize of over 8 million dollars, Cada goes into the top prize winners for any poker event in history.  Due to all this media attention Cada has recently signed a 1 million dollar contract with PokerStars to help him out with all his tournament entry and travelling expenses. Players should watch out for Joe Cada as no doubt after his great success at the main event he will be found playing some of the highest stakes in online poker.
