Winning Money Playing Zoom Poker

Zoom Poker is the latest poker release from the biggest online poker site - Pokerstars.com. This is very similar to the once popular Rush Poker at Full Tilt and is a super-fast game which cuts out all of the ‘dead time’ between hands. Zoom poker is a great game to start winning some money for two reasons. First, new games attract the ‘fun’ type poker players, with little or no
poker strategy knowledge. Second, some easy strategy adjustments and solid play could see you profiting faster than ever before.

Winning Money Playing Zoom Poker - Zoom Explained

Here is how it works; instead of joining  a table, you join a pool of players - divided by buy-in level, table size and game type. You start a hand with other players at random from your pool, then the moment you fold (or the hand ends) you are recombined with another group of players to start the next hand. This is surprisingly fast and is made possible by a ‘Fast Fold’ button, which enables you to fold before it is your turn to act. The other players do not see who has folded before that player’s turn to act.

What this means is that if you get dealt a bad hand you can instantly ‘Fast Fold’ and do not have to wait for the other players to act. This means you can play 100’s of hands each  hour.
What is more, you can join each pool of players more than once. When you join the table there is a drop down list for the number of entries which lets you choose up to 4 tables. A quick word of warning for readers - this game is very fast and if you are not used to it 4 tables can be a little too much for some players.

Winning Money Playing Zoom Poker - Basic Strategy Overview

Instead of fighting with good players, the best way to win money playing Zoom Poker is to let the bad players make mistakes and get yourself in a position to take advantage of them. This means playing very straight forward poker. Play from late position, acting last after the flop when possible. Strict starting hand selection is a must, especially from the early position spots. When someone raises from early position you should usually give them credit for a strong hand and choose your response accordingly.

Small pairs are very strong hands in zoom poker, since you are able to get maximum value from them those times you do hit the flop and make a set. Your opponents will not have ‘reads’ on your style, enabling you to value bet your monster holding over all 3 streets.

Winning money is made easier by working out who the good players and multi-tabling grinders are. Once you know this you can either adjust your play to beat them, or avoid them all together when the situation is not suitable. There are two ways of doing this. First you can check the list of players in your pool in the lobby, making a note of those players playing 4 tables - as soon as you see them then color-code their avatars at the tables. Secondly, you can take notes as you play. These can be very valuable indeed and it is worth taking the time to note any information about what different bet sizes mean.

Since those opponents will expect that nobody has a read, you can use your knowledge to win money from them again and again. Read more about Zoom poker strategy on the dedicated page here on WinMoney101.com.
