How to Play

:

- Players will start out by making their Ante bet. This will also be the time for players to make their *AA side bet.

- The dealer will now deal two cards face down, to each player and themselves.

- The dealer then deals three cards face up to the board.

- The player now has the option to Fold, or to Call.

- If any player Calls, the dealer then deals two more cards to the board.

- Each player and the dealer will now make the best five card poker hand from their own two dealt cards, and the five cards on the board.

- The players and dealer now compare hands.

- The dealer must qualify at this point with a pair of 4s or better.

- If dealer does not qualify, the Ante bet pays out, and the Call bet pushes.

- If the dealer’s hand qualifies, and the player’s hand is better than the dealer’s, the Ante bet pays out, and the Call bet pays 1 to 1.

- If the dealer’s hand qualifies, and the player’s hand and the dealer’s hand are equal, all bets push.

- If the dealer’s hand qualifies, and the dealer’s hand is better than the player’s hand, the player loses all bets.

*The AA bonus bet is a wager placed on your initial hand (The two first cards dealt to you, along with the first three cards dealt to the board) having a pair of Aces or higher. Folded hands cannot win this bonus bet. A player must Call to win. Payouts can be quite high when it comes to the AA bonus bet.

As far as strategy goes in Casino Hold’em, a good understanding of basic Poker strategy will be a great edge. The closest to optimal strategy as far as percentages go, will be to raise 82% of the time, and to fold 18% of the time. When it comes to the AA Bonus Bet, the house will usually hold an edge of 6.26%. Other than the AA Bonus Bet, the house will usually have an edge of around 2.0% to 2.5%. This is based on a player playing optimal Poker strategy.

Once again, Casino Hold’em is a game that is gaining in popularity every day. The fact that you are playing against the dealer makes a great Poker strategy even more prevalent than in Texas Hold’em. There is no reading other players and anticipating their strategies, and there is no bluffing. Also, since the pace is faster than Texas Hold’em, it’s a great game to keep you involved by the amount of hands you get to play.

Introducing Casino Holdem

Introduced in 2000 by Stephen Au-Yeung, Casino Hold’em is becoming more popular from its faster pace and more betting options than its relative twin Texas Hold’em.

Also, in Casino Hold’em, you play against the dealer and not other opponents, with the exception of side bets.

While we will lay out the basics of how to play here, players familiar with Texas Hold’em will quickly see the similarities. Of course, there are some strategies to employ to get the biggest chance of profits out of the casino version, though it's nowhere near as complex as playing standard holdem poker.
