Sit and Go Blackjack Tournaments

The first type of online blackjack tournaments that you are going to find on offer are the Sit and Go Tournaments. These follow a very straight forward type of playing structure. However you do need to be aware that there are only a small number of players who can take part in each one of these tournaments.

A Sit and Go blackjack tournament has no scheduled stating time, the way they work is that as soon as the required number of players have opted to take part in them then they will begin. This will therefore mean you will need to be logged into the casino and will have to wait until enough players have registered, and once they have then the tournament immediately begins.

The beauty of a Sit n Go blackjack tournament is that they are usually structured in such a way that you are up against a timer and end up playing just one round of blackjack, and as such the player who wins the most cash will be awarded the cash prize, which is made up from the pooled entry fees charged to entrants.

You entry fee will give you a set number of tournament chips and you will be allocated a set amount of time to play off those credits, all winnings accumulated are turned into points and as soon as the timer runs out the player with the highest score wins the entire prize pool.

Multi Table Blackjack Tournaments

You will be playing against a huge number of other players should you choose to play in a multi table blackjack tournament, the structure of these types of tournaments is completely different to the Sit and Go tournaments mentioned above, and you will have to set aside a far amount of time to take part in them.

The basic structure of all Multi Table Blackjack tournaments is quite easy to understand, once you have registered to take part in one of them you need to be online at the set in stone starting time of the tournament, and you will then be credited with a set amount of tournament chips and will then be allocated a table at which to play.

At the end of the first round of the tournament one or two of the players who have won the most chips and therefore have got the highest score from each blackjack tournament table then progresses through to the next round, all other players will then see their tournament entry coming to an end at this point in time.

After a short break a second round will be in play, and one again the one or two players achieving the highest score from each tournament table still in play will then progress through to the next stage. The number of rounds will usually be determined by the number of entrants in any blackjack tournament, and as such there will come a time when only one final table is in play.

The players who end this final round of the blackjack tournament with the highest score will then pick up a share of the prize pool on offer, with the player amassing the highest score picking up the lion’s share of that prize pool!

If you are not online or logged into the casino when each round of the blackjack tournament is scheduled to start then you will still be allocated a seat at one of the blackjack tournament tables, however as you will not be present then you will not accumulate a winning score as the software will not play your hands for you, and as such will be knocked out at the first round stage!

Blackjack Tournament Strategy

Basic blackjack playing strategy often gets set aside when players take part in an online blackjack tournament, for as you are up against the clock and need to amass the highest amount of winnings to achieve the best score, then many players will simply place maximum bet wagers on each hand and hope for the best.

It is worth pointing out that the usual blackjack playing rules and payouts are attached to blackjack tournaments as are found in land based and real money online blackjack games, and as such you do need to be playing perfectly strategy and not simply place large wagers and double them up and hope for the best!

So when playing in a blackjack tournament remember that taking the Insurance wager when offered is a very poor valued bet and one you should never take, and also play with perfect strategy for the base game used on the blackjack variant attached to any tournament.
